Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how TournaTek ("TournaTek," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our Discord bot, our website, and related services (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to run tournaments and operate your account:

  • Account information. When you create a website account, we collect your display name, email address, and a securely hashed password.
  • Discord information. When you use the bot or link your Discord account, we collect your Discord user ID and username so we can identify you across the bot and website.
  • Gameplay information. When you register with the bot, we collect your Rocket League (Epic) username and your ranked skill ratings (MMR). We also record tournament participation, teams, match results, and related statistics.
  • Content you submit. Feedback, disputes, and team names you provide through the Service.
  • Profile picture. If you upload a profile picture on the website, we store that image. If you don't upload one, we may display your linked Discord account's avatar instead.
  • Technical information. A session cookie used to keep you logged in, and standard server logs generated when you access the website.

How We Use Information

  • To operate tournaments — generating balanced teams, brackets, schedules, and match lobbies.
  • To display profiles, rankings, leaderboards, and public tournament (spectator) pages.
  • To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
  • To respond to feedback and resolve disputes.
  • To maintain, improve, and protect the Service against abuse.

Information That Is Public

The Service is built around community competition, so some information is shown publicly by design: your Discord name, skill rating, tournament results, standings, and profile picture may appear on leaderboards, your public player profile, the searchable player directory, and public spectator pages. Your Rocket League (in-game) name is not displayed as your public identity, but it remains reachable through the "RL Tracker" link on your public profile page. Please keep this in mind when registering.

Public Profiles and Opting Out

By default your player profile is public: your Discord name is searchable in the player directory and links to a public profile page, and it appears on the leaderboard and on spectator pages. You can make your profile private at any time — either from Settings on the website or with the /privacy command in Discord. When your profile is private:

  • You no longer appear in the player search or directory, and your public profile page is not viewable.
  • Your name is redacted (shown as "Private Player") on public spectator and leaderboard pages.

Making your profile private hides your identity from public view; it does not delete your underlying data, which is still used to run tournaments. To remove your data entirely, delete your account (see below).

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us operate, and only as needed:

  • Discord — to run the bot and (optionally) to verify your identity when you link your account.
  • Hosting and database providers — to store data and serve the website.
  • Rocket League rank providers — to look up your skill rating when you register.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of the Service and its users.

Data Retention

We keep your account and player profile until you delete them. Detailed tournament data (matches, teams, and registrations) is automatically purged approximately 30 days after a tournament ends; aggregate statistics may be retained. You can delete your account and associated bot registration at any time from your account settings on the website.

Your Choices and Rights

  • Access and update. View and edit your profile and account details on the website, including your profile picture.
  • Profile visibility. Make your player profile public or private at any time from website Settings or with the /privacy command in Discord.
  • Unlink Discord. Disconnect your Discord account from your website account at any time.
  • Delete. Permanently delete your account and bot registration from your account settings. This cannot be undone.

Security

We protect your information using industry-standard measures, including password hashing and encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data.

Children

The Service is not directed to children. You must meet Discord's minimum age requirement (at least 13, or older where required by local law) to use the Service.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may be announced through the Service.
